Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane has been dubbed “one of the great players in the world” by Hasan Salihamidzic, sporting director of Bayern Munich. With just one year left on his north London contract. It claims the Bundesliga giants could move for the England captain next summer.
Salihamidzic played down a move for the World Cup Golden Boot 2018 winner last month. The Bayern president has again declined to comment on a potential move for the former Leiden Orient loanee. Although he praised Kane in an interview after Bayern’s 2-0 win at Hoffenheim in their last match.
Speaking of Tottenham’s center-forward, Salihamidzic said: “He is one of the great players in the world. “But we’re not talking about players who have contracts with other clubs.”
Bavaria would not be active in the January transfer window, he said. Salihamidzic added: “We did a lot this summer, and I think we are all set for the whole season.
“We will not be active in the transfer market in the winter.” Kane described Bayern as a “top club” earlier this month. But he insists he remains fully focused on the Tottenham season.
He said about his future: “I’m focused on Tottenham and trying to be the best for us. “Bayern is a top club, for sure, but all my attention is on Tottenham.”
Spurs are desperate to link Kane to a new contract, with boss Antonio Conte encouraging the striker to write it down with new terms. He said: “We’re talking about a world-class striker & a player who is the most iconic of Tottenham at this moment. “Of course, I want him to sign a new contract.
“But at this moment, I’m happy to see him fully involved in the season, fully engaged in this project and what we’re doing. “For me, that’s the most important thing. Then it’s a choice that the player & the club have to make.”
