Leicester wants Chelsea to offer a world-record transfer fee for a defender after rejecting a £70m bid
Leicester City has continued to demand a world-record transfer fee for Wesley Fofana as Chelsea has been interested in the defender, who is away from first-team training, sources have told ESPN.
Chelsea had made three offers for Fofana, the third of which was worth a combined £70m, but was rejected by Leicester City on Tuesday.
Leicester City rate the 21-year-old in the same way as Harry Maguire, who left the club in 2019 to join Manchester United for £80m – a figure that remains the highest ever salary for a defender.
