Manchester United manager, Erik ten Hag, claims the “brilliant” Jadon Sancho is “on the way back” after scoring on his comeback to the Premier League but stresses that his destiny is “in his own hands.”

Ten Hag expressed his happiness at Sancho’s goal in an interview with Sky Sports, saying, “I’m incredibly thrilled. He’s on the way back. We know he is a brilliant football player.

 

“He will undoubtedly have a significant impact on our team. Although he had a good time tonight, we are aware of his potential for consistency. He has to work hard, as we all do, and he is in a good mood now.”

 

“It’s a wonderful footballer, and that second goal, I appreciated it, especially for him,” the commentator said. “I think it will strengthen him, push him to offer more; then you’ll receive more.”

 

When the England international was asked in the post-game news conference what he should do to ensure he does not regress, Ten Hag responded: “I believe he has the power to make the decision; if he so chooses, he can, and playing for this team will be fun for him.

 

“I truly enjoyed watching him play with such assurance, conviction, and a straightforward style. Seeing him participate in this attack was fantastic.”

 

Sancho, who cost £73 million when he transferred from Borussia Dortmund to United in July 2021, has now netted three goals in 11 Premier League appearances this season, tying his total from the 2021–22 season (3 in 29 games).

 

Ten Hag continued, “He’s moving in the right direction, and I hope he can maintain this momentum. “I’m confident it’ll help him grow and inspire him to work harder.

 

“As you can see, he is an excellent football player who can perform admirably provided he makes the necessary investments and is at the proper levels.
