Dele Alli: Everton midfielder completes season-long loan at Besiktas
Dele Alli has completed a season-long loan from Everton to Turkish club Besiktas. Based on the 26-year-old midfielder’s performance in Istanbul, the deal could be permanent.
Everton will receive a loan fee of £1.86m (€2.2m), while Besiktas will only pay Ali’s £8,430 (€10,000) salary per game.
Alli has spent most of his time on the bench since joining Everton and is desperate for more game time.
Although he joined the club in January without an initial transfer fee, Everton will owe Tottenham up to £40m if certain performance bonuses are met.
The first £10m will expire after Alli’s 20th appearance at Everton. Clubs must also pay Tottenham 25% of any payments they receive.
Since joining the club on transfer deadline day in January, Alli has made just one start – against Arsenal on the final day of last season – in a total of 13 appearances without scoring.
