NBA Rumors: Luka Doncic wants help in Dallas
Luka Doncic has frequently distanced himself from weighing in on front-office decisions in Dallas, but that could be changing this season,
According to ESPN’s Tim McMahon, the superstar has firmly indicated that he wants to see some young roster upgrades before the deadline. Luca Doncic is playing elite-level basketball this year and is in the thick of the Most Valuable Player conversation. However, the Mavericks are just three games ahead of .500 in a competitive Western division.
“McMahon said”:
Luca Doncic has been more spectacular this year, efficiently leading the NBA league in scoring despite frequent double-teams and putting the club to a 24-21 record, good enough for 5th place in the Western divisions.
Also, He’s not happy to be half of the playoff pack. Doncic is a raging competitor with a championship breed line, having victory titles with the Slovenian team and Real Madrid, and patience isn’t high on his list. Sources said Luka Doncic, who hasn’t shown a desire to be part of personnel matters in the past, has fully indicated he wants the team’s progress before the Feb. 9 trade deadline.
Given how their roster is constructed, the club is limited in terms of the moves they can make, but if Doncic wants to see some changes, they’ll be a team to keep an eye on leading up to the deadline day.
