NBA Rumors: DeMar DeRozan back as Bulls down Pistons in Paris Clash
DeMar DeRozan has back from injury to help lead the Bulls over the Detroit Pistons in Thursday’s NBA game in Paris, and They scored 26 points in a 126-108 win.
The Chicago Bulls superstar had missed three games with a right quad strain injury but was back on the floor as the French capital hosted the second regular-season game after debuting on the NBA calendar in 2020.
Victor Wembanyama, the 19-year-old French prodigy expected to be the first overall pick in this season’s NBA draft, which could belong to the Pistons, was seated courtside. The NBA commissioner Adam Silver said ahead of the game it is likely to hold another game in Paris in 2024, the third of its kind after the Bucks beat the Hornets in the past three years.
Piston’s guard Killian Hayes, who grew up in France, received a standing ovation when the first five has introduced, Chicago started quickly, and DeRozan gradually found his groove.
Bulls guard Zach LaVine scored 30, while center Nikola Vucevic added 16 points and 15 rebounds.
Derrick Jones Jr was one of the four players who hit double digits after a series of spectacular dunks. Bogdanovic guided Detroit Pistons to scoring 25 points, while Jalen Duren had a double-double. 19-year-old Duren, the NBA’s youngest player, was late on their flight after he missed his Passport.
But it was a hard game for Hayes, the 21-year-old dishing out eight assists but was limited to 4 points and had as many fouls. Chicago Bulls (21-24) sits 10th in the Eastern Conference standings, while Detroit is in last place at 12-36. Only the Houston Rockets (10-35) have the worst record.
