Draymond Green underestimates Western Conference competition
The Western Conference of the NBA has had a rough start to the year. The Suns only have an 8-5 record, the Clippers have been a pretty average club, the Jazz has lost their last three games, and the Warriors have a losing record. The Milwaukee Bucks are often regarded as the NBA’s top team, and Draymond Green concurs.
Draymond Green spoke about the Warriors’ difficulties and the teams he believes to be serious contenders in a conversation with Sam Amick of The Athletic.
Green added, “I like to look at it via conference. “When I look at the East, it’s the Bucks that are putting it together, and you have to respect for what and who they are is required. Despite how amazing they appear, you also have to recognize that (three-time All-Star guard) Khris Middleton isn’t present (after having off-season surgery to fix his left wrist). Miami has surprised me a bit in terms of its difficulties, but I am confident they will right the ship. The other day I was gazing at the West, and it seemed like nobody had made a notable impact. It is right in front of us. It’s there for us if we get our act together, which we will.
The Golden State Warriors may have a losing record. Still, they’re only three games out of the 3rd seed and 2.5 games out of the fourth seed. Everyone in the Western Conference is having a difficult time this year, not just the Warriors, which is why it’s open season, despite Draymond Green sounding overconfident.
