Newcastle vs. AC Milan for Real Madrid’s Marco Asensio
Asensio first joined Real Madrid from RCD Mallorca in 2015 but now looks destined to leave the Santiago Bernabeu, with his current contract set to expire at the end of the season.
One of the most closely linked clubs is AC Milan, who could be particularly keen to sign the Spain international if interest in Rafael Leao is an unwanted move for the Rossoneri.
Serie A teams won’t go their own way, though, and they need to get rid of competition from Newcastle, who have shown strong appeal after changing hands.
Meanwhile, the 26-year-old Asensio is also struggling with meaningful game time, having played just 104 minutes in nine games this season.
His most extended appearance in a game for the Blancos this season was 26 minutes against RB Leipzig. Asensio played in the 88th minute of Real Madrid’s thrashing of Barcelona in Sunday’s Clasico.
Despite the lack of opportunities to showcase his talent on the biggest stage, Asensio remains interested in clubs looking to sign him as a free agent in the summer.
– AC Milan will meet with Rafael Leao’s agent over a contract extension and is keen to conclude discussions before the World Cup in Qatar, according to Tuttosport. The winger’s current contract expires in 2024, and the two parties are close to reaching a wage agreement, with Milan willing to offer him a guarantee of 6 million euros a year, although there are other factors to sort out.
– Work is underway to extend Mason Mount’s contract. According to Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea’s owners, board, and manager have agreed that doing so is the club’s top priority. The England international, who has scored twice for Chelsea this season and provided three assists in all competitions, is under contract until the summer of 2024.
– Juventus will push Moise Keane to leave the club if there are reasonable enough offers, reports Calciomercato, adding that he has a redemption obligation on loan from Everton of 30 million euros. The Premier League has had loan interest recently, but not enough to convince the striker to leave.
– AC Milan wants to sign Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek in January after the 26-year-old impressed him, according to Calciomercato. The two teams are on good terms and will soon get together to discuss various situations, with Milan most interested in Loftus-Cheek.
Solbakken will soon be joining Roma, according to Calciomercato, who added that he had reached a comprehensive agreement with Roma before joining as a free agent in January. They closed the deal because Solbakken preferred joining Mourinho rather than moving to Napoli.
