Ramos, Marcelo, Casemiro – Real Madrid has learned the wise time to say goodbye
They call it an institutional act of tribute. Sergio Ramos got one last year. Marcelo had one earlier this summer. Raul did the same.
Real Madrid’s latest recipient of the honor is Casemiro, who was welcomed before leaving for Manchester United on Monday morning – another great club, but these days famous players often come here with glory only to leave the clouds under.
Ramos was Real Madrid’s formidable club captain, an icon of their modern era, but when his contract expired and he moved to Paris Saint-Germain, he was 35, a fading force. The same goes for Marcelo, 34, who has yet to join a new club.
