Los Angeles Clippers (2019–2021)

 

Kabengele was chosen by the Brooklyn Nets with the 27th overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft on June 20, and his draft rights were later traded to the Los Angeles Clippers for a future first-round pick in the NBA Draft 2020 and the draft rights to Jaylen Hands, who was chosen with the 56th overall pick in the same year. The Clippers revealed that they had signed Kabengele on July 9, 2019. Kabengele made his NBA debut on October 24, 2019, when he came off the bench in a 141-122 victory over the Golden State Warriors and contributed three points, a rebound, and a block.

On November 16, 2019, Kabengele scored 10 points and grabbed two rebounds in a crushing victory over the Atlanta Hawks, 150-101. On assignment with the G League’s Agua Caliente Clippers, Kabengele recorded 25 points, 12 rebounds, three assists, three blocks, and 2 steals in a 112-102 loss against the Rio Grande Valley Vipers on January 14, 2020. On January 19, he outscored the Stockton Kings by 38 points, 12 rebounds, and a block in a G League victory. He sought to develop a three-point shooting from a professional distance in the G League.

 

Kabengele was dealt to the Sacramento Kings on March 22, 2021, along with an Atlanta Hawks’ 2022 second-round pick, in exchange for the Kings’ 2022 second-round pick. He was released three days later.

 

 

Cleveland Cavaliers (2021)

Kabengele signed a 10-day deal with the Cleveland Cavs on April 10, 2021. On April 21, he inked another 10-day deal. He agreed to a multi-year contract on May 1. On May 9, Kabengele played a career-high 23 minutes in a 124-97 defeat to the Dallas Mavericks while recording a career-high 14 pts on 5/7 shooting from the field and 1-of-2 from 3’s. He also had four rebounds and one assist. The Cleveland Cavaliers released Kabengele on October 12, 2021.

 

 

Rio Grande Valley Vipers (2021–2022)

Kabengele joined the Houston Rockets on October 17, 2021, but was promptly released. Later, he joined the NBA G League’s Rio Grande Valley Vipers.

 

 

Boston Celtics (2022–present)

 

After putting on a solid performance during Summer League Competition, Kabengele signed a two-way contract with the Boston Celtics on July 16, 2022.
