Patrick Sammie Mills AM, born on August 11, 1988, is an Australian professional basketball player with the Atlanta Hawks in the NBA. Mills, raised in Canberra, is of Torres Strait Islander and Aboriginal Australian descent. He became the third Indigenous basketball player to represent Australia in 2007. Mills was drafted by the Portland Trail Blazers in 2009 after playing college basketball for the Saint Mary’s Gaels.
