The Eastern Conference Finals are now a best-of-three set with Game 5 between the Boston Celtics and Miami Heat swinging back to South Beach.
The NBA Eastern Conference finals between the Miami Heat and Boston Celtics are tied 2-2. Each team won once at home and once on the road, with the most recent game finishing in the favor of the Celtics – they beat the Heat 102-82 at TD Garden in Boston on Monday evening.
Before Game 4, I preached about getting out ahead of any injury updates with early bets on Boston and the Under, knowing that Miami stars Jimmy Butler and Tyler Herro were question marks coming into Monday. And with the Heat stealing back home court with a win in the TD Garden in Game 3, I was cautious of Miami’s motivations considering those injuries.
Boston Celtics were seven-point favorites ahead of the fourth game of the Eastern Conference finals. However, they exceeded the bookies’ expectations, demolishing the Heat by 20 points.
Jayson Tatum was, by far, the best player in the game. We saw the 24-year-old forward scored 31 points, while also making 8 rebounds and 5 assists. His vintage performance came as a sort of revenge for what happened in the game before. As a reminder, the Celtics lost the first game played on their turf, with Tatum putting away just 10 points.
Going into Game 4, the Heat knew that they were shorthanded. Tyler Herro was sidelined due to a groin injury, leaving a huge hole in Miami’s offense. The sixth man’s absence definitely played a big factor in their lack of offensive productivity.
As mentioned earlier,Expect Herro to make a heroic return for Game 5 in Miami. He is considered a game-time decision, much like his original designation for Game 4. However, with a few extra days of rest and recovery, Herro should be available come game time.
Herro will seamlessly work his way back into his role with Miami, putting up at least four 3-pointers in Game 5.
