What does +- mean in basketball betting?
The most basic +/- market is the Asian market. These signs help you increase your odds, so you can bet on favorites, which usually have extremely low odds. For example, let’s assume there are two teams playing and one of the teams is the favorite. The odds of that team winning will be so low that it’s not worth betting on them. However, we can increase the odds by using the above odds. We use the “minus” sign when we want to increase the odds of a favorite.
So if we add -7.5 points to our favorite market, the odds for that market will increase significantly. This means we subtract 7.5 points from the final score of the favorite team. If they win by 8 points or more, you win the bet. On the other hand, “plus” can do the same. However, we use it to increase the chances of a loser. We can add +7.5 points to the score of the weaker side. So if they lose by 7 points or less, you win the bet.
