6 teams that have never even made the NBA Finals

These six teams have never seen the NBA Finals stage. Many of them have experienced an incredibly long playoff drought, or have never been lucky enough to get an All-Star player, which will lead to the deepening of the playoffs.

The Los Angeles Clippers, Charlotte Hornets and New Orleans Pelicans have never even participated in the conference finals. Some of the worst playoffs recently came from the Los Angeles Clippers, who have stars but never make it to the penultimate stage of the game.

The Memphis Grizzlies, Minnesota Timberwolves and Denver Nuggets have seen the conference finals, but unfortunately they will never be able to surpass that level. In 2004, defending MVP Kevin Garnett led the Timberwolves to the Western Conference Finals, but faced the “Kobe Shaq” Los Angeles Lakers and lost to them in six games.

Marc Gasol and Mike Conley led the Memphis Grizzlies to the Western Conference Finals in 2013, but were swept when they faced the San Antonio Spurs led by Tim Duncan.

However, the Denver Nuggets have reached the conference finals many times. The most recent happened last season. Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray led the team to two consecutive 3-1 reversals in the 2020 NBA playoffs. They reached the conference finals with Carmelo Anthony in 2009 and Alex English and Fat Lever in 1985. In fact, the Nuggets have seen the finals, but in their time with the ABA (before the merger).
