The 2021 Wimbledon Championship is a grand slam tennis tournament held at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in Wimbledon, London, England. Novak Djokovic successfully defended the gentleman’s singles title and defeated Matteo Berrettini in the final to win his record 20th Grand Slam championship.
Djokovic became the first person since Rod Laver in 1969 to win the Australian Open, French Open and Wimbledon in the same calendar year, as well as since Nadal (Nadal) was the first person to achieve “Surface Slam” (a calendar year to win a Grand Slam on three different surfaces). In 2010, he also became the fifth person to win the “Straits Slam” in the Open era ( French Open/Wimbledon).
Djokovic and Daniel Medvedev competed for the top spot in the ATP singles ranking; when Medvedev lost in the fourth round, Djokovic kept the top spot.
